In the Work Life of a Fashionista

The growth of the internet and the availability of simple web publishing tools have made it easy to share content online. Many people create websites as a hobby or as a way to share content online. Fashion bloggers put their work online in the hopes of attracting attention and building a following. Some bloggers however are able to make a living creating content for their websites. Their wages vary significantly depending on their employer and the size of their audience. Some bloggers post many times a day; others post less frequently. In their posts, bloggers occasionally use other media and content that aren't possible in print. Bloggers can be self-employed, employed by print media or other companies, or work as contractors.

They have complete creative control over their own content and set their own schedules. Most self-employed bloggers make money through advertising on their websites. The amount of money they make from ads depends on the number of times people visit their website, called "traffic". As traffic increases, advertisers pay bloggers more. Well-known bloggers may also make money through sponsorship, or product sales. When employed by traditional print media companies, such as newspapers and magazines, bloggers may write for both print and online editions. Many readers turn to the internet for breaking news, so bloggers often race to be first to post news.

Work Setting/ Conditions:
Bloggers have the ability to control almost every aspect of their careers and can spend any amount of time working from as little as 3 hours to as much as 14+ hours daily. Bloggers are not limited by restrictions and have the ability to create and design the content they publish.

Pay Ranges:
The pay scale of fashion bloggers is a wide range. They may do it for free or get paid a median of $60,000 a year.

Employment outlook:
 Bloggers are people who have a strong passion for fashion and keep a frequently updated online journal to share their passion called a "fashion blog" to share for viewers. Fashion blogging is a new profession that is flourishing and fashion bloggers can earn a lot of money by either publishing their posts through paid blogging services or become a web publisher who creates their own blogs.
